Depicting WATER….

One of the exhibits at the Sewing and Quilting Expo was devoted to WATER…. clear, luscious water! Quilts were made by the SAQA Minnesota Region chapter.

“Flowers Sun” by Jody Larson

…..

“From Behind the Waterfall” by Patty Arensen

I love that she incorporated strings of beads to add sparkle to the water….

…..

“Minnesota Sunrise”

Look at the way she used threadwork to add emphasis to the sun “beams”arcs”….

…..

“Passing Over” by Enid Weichselbarm

This is a quilt dedicated to her husband, who loved to fly and to sail.

As you might guess, I love the quilting on this one, but look how she used sheer fabrics to create the dragonflies…

…..

“Habitat” by Guila Greer

…..

“My Other LIfe as a Mermaid” by Kathryn Robinson

I have truly become enamored with these narrow, long quilts!!

…..

“Currents” by Jody Larson

In this quilt, Jody is depicting how water acts as a pollinator, transporting pollen and seeds through motion and currents!

Come back tomorrow, and we will look at quilts inspired by the 2024 Kona Color of the Year!
