AQS Paducah - Large Quilts - 1st entry to Paducah

It is interesting to me that certain categories at Paducah have a special classification of “1st entry in a Paducah Quilt Contest”.

Here are a few of my favorites…..

“My Love Entwined” by Lize Blignaut

This Blue Ribbon winner was a great mixture of piecing, applique and quilting!!

…..

“A Year in Hand” by Margaret Brockbank

There are LOT of “Kite” Shapes in this quilt, along with a ton of tiny hexagons. It was awarded the 2nd place ribbon.

…..

“Old Fashioned Sampler” by Gladys J. Cline

This 3rd place winner was another example of using crochet doilies…..

This example was enhanced by the darker fabrics showing thru the weave in the crochet.

“Catch Me” by Ann Bender

……

“Cabin in the Sun” by Danielle Boucher

This was probably my favorite in this category. The colors and feel of the quilt was fresh and fun!!
