Orange Peel Corners!!

Today, I want to finish up the quilting on the Orange and Green quilt, and I have been thinking “ORANGE PEELS”!!

They are fast, easy, and VERY FORGIVING!!

What more can you ask for!!

There is a lot of quilting in this design but it honestly does go so quickly!!

Now I wish I had used this design for all of the border….but….oh well!

IT….IS…..FINISHED

Come back next Friday and we will make a quick trip to Paducah to look at some of the amazing quilting at the show.

Mandala #4 is underway

Today we are going to get started on Mandala #4!!

I must be getting used to designing these because this one came together like a dream!! I am using the same element several times in the design and am very happy with how it is looking.

I finally realized that these Mandala’s are nothing more than GRID QUILTING in a circle…..

It makes it so much easier for me to think one grid at a time rather than looking at the design as a whole!

Enough talk….let’s quilt……

I am loving the circles with lines coming off of each end…..

… and am now thinking about how I can include those in my “regular” quilting!!

This Mandala will only take 3 weeks to quilt so be sure to come back next Friday for the next two rounds!!

Mandala #3 is in the books

Today I am finishing off quilted mandala #3, continuing with the “straight-ish” lines.

Let’s get to quilting…..

I am truly enjoying this series and love how #3 has turned out……

All in all… a REALLY fun exercise.

One of the challenges with this round was figuring out how to quilt it without a million starts and stops OR having to quilt the actual grid line. That is the reason that one of the T’s dips into the previous round.

What will #4 bring…..WHO KNOWS??

Mandala #3 – Round 2

Last week I shared the first round of the third mandala…..

I am LOVING how this looks!!

So, let’s add the next circle…..

I was concerned about this round and wondered if the design would be too heavy for the mandala. But, I think it turned out great!!

Come back next Friday for round 3…..

Mandala #2 is FINISHED!!

I have enjoyed working on this mandala so much more than the first one and I think it is because there was more of a “theme” with this one. Lots of curves, circles and arcs!!

Which tells me that I need to keep that in mind as I plan future designs…..each one needs a theme!!

I hope that you are enjoying these mandalas and stay tuned….more are on the way!!
