Thankful for my quilter!!

Several months ago I wrote about making a quilt called “Tradewinds” from Cozy Quilt Designs.

This is the last post that I wrote about finishing up the top…..

Now it was time to quilt it and I decided that I would send it to a Longarm quilter instead of doing it myself. At this stage, I was in a HURRY to get this one finished, and I quickly grabbed a piece of fabric that was big enough…..

and said to myself….

“It’s good enough”!!

I happily handed it off to my friend Sheila of 34 Stitches.

She came back to me a few weeks later and asked if I was SURE that I wanted to use that back? The more I thought about it, I realized that I had settled for what was fast rather than thinking about what was appropriate. I changed the backing!!

I am so thankful that she took the initiative to challenge my decision.

The quilt is MUCH better because of her!!

Do you struggle with settling for what is easy rather than what is best???

How do you override that tendency?
