What’s up!!

This past Monday, we returned from our travels to South Africa and Mozambique.

It was a marvelous trip, filled with meeting up with old friends and enjoying wild Africa!! I will write a couple of blog posts later on in the week.

But as soon as I got home, I had to go into content creation mode.

Right before we left, I was recording all of the video for my upcoming “YES, You Can Quilt it Yourself” online workshop. This was my view for several days before we took off….

I spent much of our two 16-hour flights editing and organizing videos, and then continued working on them this past week.

I have also spent an inordinate amount of time learning how to set up memberships on my website!! I am truly thankful for ChatGPT….my savior when it comes to all things website related.

So, what is coming up at Frances Quilts…..

The online course…..

….will be available on August 1st.

I will be participating in the Free-Motion Machine Quilting Online Summit, organized by “Mary-Go-Round Quilts”

I will send more information about that in the near future!!

My daughter has done it again, requesting another baby quilt for one of her friends. This time I will be thinking about a whimsical forest scene. This is the “mood board” picture…..

The shower is in the second week of August, so I need to get started fairly soon!!

Finally, I have an idea that I would like to make for the AQS “Petals of Connection” challenge…..

This is due on August 30th, so I will have to get closer to see if I have time to do it.

Oh, if that isn’t enough, I have a lot of CPA work to catch up on…..retirement can’t come soon enough!!

And, YES, I am feeling a bit hectic at the moment!!

My TO-DO List is TOO long!!

Do you have this problem?  Your task list is getting longer and longer and longer…..

….and time is getting shorter and shorter and shorter!!

Well….maybe I found a solution!!

As you know, I love to listen to podcasts and one I have recently found is “The Lazy Genius”.

The host is Kendra Adachi and her take on life is simple….. “Be a genius about the things that matter, and lazy about the things that don’t!!”

One of her solutions when looking at a task list is to break it down into four categories…..

  • NOW
  • SOON
  • LATER
  • NEVER MIND!!

I especially love that last one. How many tasks on my list can be removed because they were just thoughts and not really tasks. I added them to the list so wouldn’t forget but….do I REALLY want to do them???

Maybe you should have a look at your “list” and see if sorting them using these criteria might help!!
