As Marnie and I have been working on her guitar quilt, she found the perfect fabric for the string holder…..

….but it was too bright and white!!!
WHAT TO DO??
We pulled out a couple of fabric markers…..

….and added some color.
Now it is the PERFECT color for the quilt……

In the past, I have painted a particular fabric to make it fit into the design…

….and am definitely known for grabbing my sea sponge and adding color or emphasis where needed!
What is your favorite technique for “helping” a fabric to fit in better?

I have never tried painting, but I often reverse a piece of fabric if it helps fit the pattern. This usually happens with a neutral that isn’t quite neutral enough for me! I’ll have to try painting some time.
