Pretty much, except I usually don’t make it to genius and can’t wait to make another one. Usually it’s “Phew! Glad I did it, but I think I’ll try something else now.”
Yep! But we have to remind ourselves when we get discouraged: the little mistakes we make won’t be noticed on the final product (except by nitpickers). Now if we can just avoid the big mistakes. . .
Because if it’s a worthwhile project, chances are:
1. we’ve never done it before
2. it’s probably not easy
3. we want to learn something in doing the project
4. it might not turn out just how we envisioned
If we only do things we know we can do, we learn very little and don’t stretch ourselves. I say we should EMBRACE THE UNCERTAINTY and keep moving forward. It’s never a waste of time!

I am with you about stretching myself. I always want to try new things, and I am finally comfortable with throwing something away if I need to!!
So true for me.
Why do we do this to ourselves Christie??
Yup!
We need to learn to skip the middle parts!!

Every. Single. Time. I call it the anatomy of a project. And I’ve learned to work through it to the end.
So Dianne…..why do we do this to ourselves??
