You know when you have that little nagging feeling but you can’t quite put your finger on it??
Well, that happened to me this past weekend as I was sitting down to do a little bit of FMQ practice.
I have decided to work on an Angela Walter’s FMQ challenge from a number of years ago.
For some reason, I just hadn’t been able to get into it!
I had done a small portion in years gone by….

…but wasn’t sure that I LIKED serpentine lines.
BUT…..I had a couple of hours on Saturday and it was time to get back to this project!!
I sat down, watched her YouTube tutorial, and started stitching…..

That’s not too bad….maybe I am better at this than I thought!!
But, as I stitched, I was surprised that the quilt wasn’t moving freely and that it seemed overly thick.
YES, my worst fears came true when I looked at the back…..

I had folded the quilt over and quilted through TWO layers of the quilt!!
Much ripping ensued….

Thankfully the backing fabric is highly patterned so the ripped out stitches don’t show.
AND….after about 30 minutes, I am back where I started.
NOTE TO SELF….. IF SOMETHING SEEMS WRONG, IT PROBABLY IS!!!

It was hard to click the like button–because nobody likes it when they make a quilting mistake!
