A Tale of Two Emails

On Monday afternoon, I was sitting on my deck, finishing off my lunch when I had a phone call from Laura. Her exciting news was that one of her quilts had been accepted into the International Quilt Festival in Houston.

While I congratulated and rejoiced with her, I was dying to open my email and see if I had received any results.

Once off of the call, I quickly checked my email….

NOTHING!!

Okay….that probably means that I had rejections. “That’s Okay”, I thought. At least the Cherrywood Challenge will be there….

I went back to my office and started working again.

About 15 minutes later I noticed that I had two new emails!!

The first was a rejection for “Sadie The Saddle Billed Stork”…..

…..and the other was an ACCEPTANCE for “Catherine Wheel of Color”…….

Needless to say, I am so excited that this quilt was accepted. I started it in 2019, after my “Rainbow Pineapple”……

….had hung in the show and I was always secretly hopeful that this new one would be there as well.

And in case you are wondering, there have been MANY more rejections since 2018!! Those make an acceptance all that much sweeter!!

So, I am off to book flights to Houston…..let’s go to the show!!
