One of my favorite online shops is Quiltblox.com….

….operated by Deb Messina.

Deb is located in Oregon and part of one of my favorite quilt guilds…. the Metropolitan Patchwork Society of Beaverton, OR.
Deb sends out a weekly newsletter that is chock-a-block with patterns, ideas and information!!
She recently asked this…..
Have you given some thought to what happens to all those beautiful quilts you’ve created over the years? What about all those tools, patterns, books, and yes, what about all those fabrics in your stash?
Then she went on to suggest that we write a “Quilter’s Letter of Instruction” that our loved ones could use to make some of those decisions.

AND, being who she is, she put together a guide to create this letter!!
In this guide, she suggests several questions that you need to answer…..from “Who gets your fabric collection?” to directions for finding all of the OTHER craft stuff that you have “stashed” around the house. Think of this like a treasure map!!
Her final question is “Do you have strong feelings about anything that you don’t want to have happen to your stuff?”
Now this sounds like a big task to me, and one that I would probably put off for a later date, but she has made it easy and provided a download so you can just “fill in the blanks”.

Thank you Deb for giving us such a wonderful resource!! I am sure that one day my kids will be rejoicing as they read it!!
