One thing that I love about quilters is the way that they encourage each other and how willing they are to share their “collective wisdom”.
Well, I am stuck and could use some help!!
Yesterday I finished quilting the inner section of the Quilt-Of-Valor…..

…and I am pleased with how it looks.
I added a few straight lines to the first two light blue borders….

I like how they look but MAY go back in a quilt something in that inner channel….we will see.
I am going to quilt stars in the narrow red border.
I plan to quilt the set of gold stars and red squares in a similar manner to the main section.
I have flags planned for the outside border.
SO….now the big question….
WHAT AM I GOING TO DO IN THE LARGER LIGHT BLUE SECTIONS?

Remember that I am trying to stick with the “stars and stripes” theme.
I really want to finish this up in the next few days so any and all ideas would be appreciated!!
GO
..

I wonder how it would look to do larger stars above & beside red squares. Then all wavy stripes next to pinwheel blocks & between the stars. And have a lone star in the lone blue square toward the top left.
Great ideas Melissa. I especially love the idea of the star in the lone blue square!!
It’s beautiful so far, that’s for sure. Someone suggested sawtooth, put that in your mix of ideas.
I like that too Marnie!!
