The Program and Workshop chairman of our local guild is a wonderwoman!! She was concerned that more people weren’t taking advantage of our workshop schedule, so she invented a challenge that will run in 2026.
We will meet once or twice each month, and different members will provide instruction for that month’s task.
We are going to be working with this book…

…creating a series of blocks each month.
If you do ALL of them, you end up with 100 blocks.
Now, I don’t plan to do them all, but will aim for 3 -5 blocks per month. My biggest problem will be picking which ones to create!!
I was conflicted about a color scheme, but found this fun fabric at Houston and decided to base the quilt on it..

My thinking is to use solid fabrics for the blocks and try to make it more “Modern” in appearance.
Naturally, my solid fabrics looked a bit dull, but a trip to the fabric store solved THAT particular problem….

Stay tuned for monthly (or more) updates!!

Your focus fabric reminds me very much of some fabrics I bought at a show in 2023. They were designed by a woman named P.Carter Carpin. Is that who designed your fabric? I wrote about the show and the fabric here: https://medium.com/@andrea-r-huelsenbeck/do-i-have-the-moxie-to-buy-a-quilting-machine-82853be3c9ea
Yes, that is the designer!! Thanks for mentioning that she has an Etsy shop as I was wondering what I would do if I ran out!!
Beautiful focus fabric and great challenge and book
If I weren’t traveling so much this winter and spring I would join you
Always love to receive your blog
Well, enjoy your traveling…. there will always be time for challenges!!! I am excited about the fabrics!!
