I HATE when this happens

The other day I was happily quilting the “dreadlocks” in my Highland Cow bangs…..

….when I thought “I haven’t checked my tension in a while so should probably look at the back.

THAT’s WHEN I SAW IT…..

As I had repositioned the quilt to work in another area, the top of the quilt had gotten folded down so that I was quilting through TWO “quilt sandwiches”!!!

ARGH!!!

And you know what comes next…..

…quality time with “jack the ripper”!!

But, after brushing off all of the thread tails…..

….I was back in business!!

When was the last time this happened to YOU?

  1. Yes, it has. And usual it is a momentum killer. I recently bought a new Clover seam ripper. It is such a great tool for these situations. Can’t believe I lived without one for so long.

  2. One time I did a dense stipple on a queen size quilt on my Pfaff machine! All was well until I needed to take a break and found that I had quilted through my shirt up to my neck! I could not even take the shirt off. Hours of un-sewing to save my best old shirt! My husband wondered why I didn’t just cut the shirt off and throw it away! What planet is he from?!

    1. Oh my…. I hope you took pictures!! And WHY would you throw away a perfectly good shirt??? Thanks for telling me the story….it brightened my day!!
