Bat-Scrap Crazy: What makes the Cut

As I ironed the scraps, I placed them into piles…..

  • one for longer pieces that can be strips (normally 20+ inches in length),
  • one for smaller pieces that can be cut into squares,
  • One more pile for pieces that are smaller than 2.5 inches but at least 2.0 inches
  • Finally, one pile for pieces that are smaller than 2 inches (these are my crumbs)

Now that the sorting is done, let’s start cutting!!

As I have mentioned, I use my Accuquilt machine to cut my scraps. First, cover the cutting die with pieces long enough to save as strips. Then run it through the Accuquilt….

….and voila….

…a set of strips is ready to store!!

At this point, I am trying to keep things separated by color…

Hurray for empty bathrooms next door to the studio!!

Next step is to cut some of these strips into squares….. see you tomorrow!!
