One of my favorite exhibits at the International Quilt Festival is the “Celebration of Color” sponsored by eQuilter.
This year’s offerings were truly amazing. Here are a few of my favorites…..
First prize was awarded to Lou Ellen Hassold (quilted by Valerie Wagner)…..

She mixed Kaffe Fassett scraps and Moda Grunge fabrics, using a Judy Neimeyer design. The result seemed to glow!!
The “Best of Show” ribbon went to Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry……

I have ALWAYS loved her work and this is certainly the way that I would want to CELEBRATE!!!
I loved this quilt by Amy Kidd…..

….and especially the way that she incorporated striped fabrics…..

They gave a sparkle to the finished piece!!
This quilt by Claudia Clark Myers…..

…had so much dimension and movement!! She made it using variations on a “Wheel of Fortune” block.
“Mason Jar Bouquet” by Deana Steel…….

….satisfied my need for gorgeous flowers on a quilt. The butterfly was an added benefit!!
Karen Grace Fisher’s quilt…..

….is a great example of a Mathematical quilt. It contains 26 colors and the color and value changes move your eye across the quilt.
Finally, “Chroma Infinitum” by Susan McKinney……

….is a riotous explosion of color and I LOVE IT!!!!
Come back tomorrow for the Applique quilts…..one, in particular, will ASTOUND you….I promise!!!

Thanks for posting – I love to see all the quilts!
You are so welcome Shelly. It is good for me to write about the quilts because it makes me read all of the information and really observe them better in the photos. It is so hectic when you are there that it is hard to take in all of the details!!!
