I REALLY appreciate this quote and this past week is a good example of why I think it is important.
You see, I got TWO rejection letters from QuiltCon. One for my MQG Fabric challenge, “Catching a Dream”….

….and one for “Catherine Wheel of Color”….

While both were disappointing, I can look at each quilt and remember how much happiness and fun/frustration I felt during the making of them.
The PURPOSE was not to get into the show (although that may have been a goal)…..the PURPOSE was to make a quilt that I could be proud of.
….and I DEFINITELY reached that goal!!
So….enjoy the PROCESS…..not just the product. Thanks James Clear for reminding me!!

One of my favorite things about quilting is motivating others and helping them in their quilting journey. As part of this endeavor, I LOVE to present programs and workshops to groups and guilds around the world. All of my programs work well with Zoom meetings, and I would love to speak to your group.

I loved both of your quilts especially the ” Catching the Dream” so thoughtfull and atmospheric. Cannot understand why they were rejected.
Thanks Jane. Only 20% of the entries were accepted so it really was a long shot anyway. But, I will keep entering!!
I love this quote and the process of watching you be so creative.
What an honest share. Thank you for your transparency and reminding us of the joy of being a maker.
Thanks Christie!! I am excited about the upcoming projects!!
I think both of these quilts are stunning. Be proud of them and the joy you had in creating them. Continue sharing them whenever you think they fit the situation.
Thanks for the encouragement Kathy!!!
You are inspiring others and that is pretty great 🙂
Thanks Stephanie. That has been the entire point behind the “Frances Quilts” stuff!!
I love the wheel of color quilt. Sorry that it wasn’t what the judges were looking for. Be proud of your work. It rocks.
Thanks Leslie. I am proud that both were original creations….that is what gets my juices going!!!
