I was excited to find out that “Sadie the Saddle-Billed Stork” is going on a trip……

….TO PADUCAH!!!
This is the first time that I have entered a quilt in an AQS show and I am excited to see how she fares!
Since I can’t find a hotel room anywhere near Paducah, I will probably not attend. So, if you are going, I will be pleading for photographs to be taken!!
AND, while we are on the topic of quilt shows.
Tomorrow I am driving to Raleigh, NC to spend a few hours at QuiltCon. It will be a fast and furious trip but I can’t wait to get back and share the show with you.
If you happen to see me there on Friday, please say hello!!

Congratulations. What an honor. Bummer that you don’t get to see the show. Hopefully someone will be there “for you.”
Congratulations! Keep on trying and searching for a hotel room. I made my reservation for Thursday and Friday about three weeks ago. Look in the little towns in the Kentucky Lakes area. Those 30-40 miles from Paducah are an easy drive. Also, keep trying because people do cancel as the show gets nearer and hotels that had 3 or 4 night minimum stays lift that minimum as the show nears if they haven’t yet been booked. Good luck and I’ll look for Sadie.
Thanks for the encouragement Linda. I have set reminders to check every 3 days as the time gets closer. This is the way that I got into the hotel at the Houston show too. Just keep looking!!
Yay for you and Sadie! I enjoyed following her progress as you worked on her. Good Luck!
Thanks Susan. We are BOTH excited!!!
Congratulations, Frances! And I’m sending Sadie lots of good energy.
Thanks Andrea. I am excited that she was accepted!!
Congratulations on Sadie’s trip. I just learned that Sadie is a female due to her yellow eye. Males have black eyes! I love reading your blog EVERY DAY! (Metropolitan Patchwork Society, Beaverton, OR
Thanks Nancy. Yes, I also learned about the importance of eye color when we were in Mozambique!! I am so glad that you enjoy the blog. I still have VERY fond memories of MPS!!!
