QuiltCon Small Quilts – Finale

We have a few more “Small Quilts” to view, so let’s get going!

This first quilter always amazes me with her work…..

“Aura No. 7” by Audrey Esarey

The rings are pieced and then layers of quilting thread are added to slightly shift the hue of the fabric.

She was working for a “bright, warm glow”…..she certainly achieved it!!

And another quilt in the “insanity” category…..

“Cotton Candy” by Amy Pabst

Amy pieces on a 1947 Singer Featherweight. There are 13,795 pieces in this quilt.

Now back to my original comment….Don’t you think that there should be an “INSANITY” Category in every quilt show????

This next quilt was inspired by an airport carpet…..

“Lines of Travel” by Teresa Arendell

It was part of a Kona Color Challenge.

I appreciate the simplicity of the design!

The construction of this next quilt is interesting…..

“Innards” by Steph Skardal

It was made from pre-quilted pieces that were laser cut and assembled back together with glue and another round of quilting. The dots were then layered on top!

What a fun idea!

And our final quilt of the “Small Quilt” category…..

“Stardust” by Betsy Balog

The piecing in this quilt might be considered bland, but the embroidery elevates it to a whole new level……

I love how she quilted channels and then laid down embroidered lines in the channel. SO innovative!!

Okay guys…..we are through with the Small Quilts, and sadly, there is only one category left. Come back on Monday for the “Scrappy” Category!!

Please subscribe so that you don’t miss any of my favorites from QuiltCon…..
