Yesterday we started our stroll thru the “Georgia Celebrates Quilts” show. Let’s keep going….
This first quilt has a wonderful array of blocks, magnificent colors and excellent quilting…..

I really like this simple quilting design….

…think I will add it to my list of things to try!!
This quilt was awarded the “Best Stationary Machine Quilting” award…..

The photo doesn’t do the quilting justice. It was outstanding….

This is such a fun quilt….

….and what a great place for hand quilting!!!

This “One Block Wonder” is so subtle….

I always enjoy an optical illusion and this quilt had a truly spherical look. The picture doesn’t really show it well….

I may need to study this one a bit and see if I could come up with something in this same vein!!
This quilter is a woman after my own heart. Her quilt was inspired by backlit stained glass in a restroom, AND it is made with scrap fabrics……

AND….each circle is quilted differently…..

This quilt was made by one of our guild members…..Terri Mcghee. She made it to honor her father who spent a lifetime restoring old houses…..

My friend Linda and I have often talked about making a vortex quilt, and this one is magnificent….

It was fun seeing my quilt “Catching a Dream” displayed with another quilt using the challenge fabric….

I started a conversation with one of the makers of this next quilt. She started telling me the story of how they were neighbors, but didn’t know that they shared an interest in quilting. At this point I stopped her and said “I remember this story…..was this at QuiltCon”?

Finally for today, the muted colors in this Modern quilt pulled me in for a closer look….

The palette is so calm and relaxing.
More quilts to come in the next week. Be sure to stay tuned!!
