Georgia Celebrates Quilts – Part 3

Last weekend we visited a number of my favorites from the Georgia Celebrates Quilts show.

Let’s keep moving down the aisles!!

I was fortunate to have a quilt in the “Art-Realistic” category so I was excited to see the quilts in that category.

First place ribbon went to….

“The Swimmer” by Joan Roeber-Jones
“Casey Stengel – with a Wink & A Smile” by Ben Hollingsworth

The third place ribbon went to…..

Second place to…..

“Bob” by Marie Wood

And as I have already told you, Honorable Mention went to my friend Rosie’s quilt…..

“My Chosen Home” by Rosell Crockett

…..and, of course, the final HM went to my very own Sadie…..

By the way, aren’t these ribbons gorgeous….

I can’t wait to get it home and add it to my ribbon wall!!

Other favorites from the category……

“Entangled in the Wood Wide Web” by Vickie Lord

Sadie was joined by “Shonda the Shoe-Bill”…..

“Shonda The Shoe-Bill” by Melinda Rushing

I love the bird, but REALLY love the quilting. There was some amazing grid quilting….

….and look at this ASTOUNDING feather…..

Finally in the “Realistic” category, I just love the story that this quilt tells….

“A Morning Walk” by Molly Flowers

The “Art – Abstract” category also had some wonderful quilts, starting with this one…..

JUST LOOK AT THAT QUILTING…..

This one is similar, but with a bit more structure, and more amazing quilting…..

“Petals and Pods” by Chery Costley

This next one was fun…..

“Finding Harmony” by Andrea Barrett

It is such a simple design but the quilting pushes it up to a different level!!

When I saw this next quilt, I knew that it looked familiar, but I couldn’t place it. When I read the title, I knew that it reminded me of a photo that I took in Paris…..

“Eiffel Up” by Andrea Barrett

I LOVE THIS QUILT!!

I know that I have shown it previously, but Rosie also had this quilt in the show….

“Zen Dangle” by Rosell Crockett

Come back tomorrow and we will finish out the last of my favorites from the Georgia Quilt Show!!
