On Thursday we finished piecing the alternating blocks….

Now comes the magical part when you put the two blocks together and see what happens……

Doesn’t that look great??
BUT….do I really like the size?
I didn’t have a true plan for how big to make the quilt and as I looked at it, I felt that it was too wide and not long enough.
So, I made two more rows and sewed them on…….

Well heck….now it looks to long and narrow!!
It would be okay if I could have added one row, but I really like all of the corner blocks to be the same. THAT means that I have to add rows in sets of two!
I thought about it for a long time and ended up taking the two rows off again and will use them for the base of a smaller quilt that can be given to Charity.
After all, I have PLENTY of 2-inch scraps left…..

Tomorrow we will figure out how to border the quilt and get started on the smaller version.
It wont be long until I finish up these 2-inch scraps!!

Wow. This is striking. I love the secondary patterns it created. You do amazing work!
Wonderful idea for a scrappy quilt!
Thanks Aby. I truly like the design!!
