Do you like mystery quilts?
For me, the jury is still out!!
While I enjoy learning new techniques, I am always torn that I don’t know what it will look like at the end.
This makes choosing colors and fabrics extremely difficult.
Some years ago, I signed up for a mystery quilt and had NO idea where to start, so I pulled out photos of a favorite trip to the Bahamas…..
….carried them to the quilt shop and found……
Then I looked at this photo of Jenny and the ocean…..
…. and decided to add a fun Kaffe fabric to the mix…..
Now, I would never have thought to put these fabrics together, but I love how the quilt turned out…..
This photo is not quite as saturated the actual quilt, but I sure liked it!!
Even better was getting to give it to our friend in China as a baby gift……

Very nice. Each quilt is a surprise for me. The feeling of finishing each of them is just wonderful no matter what colors we choose. I am doing a mystery Christmas quilt BOM and can’t wait for the holidays! Thanks for the great tip.
