Your Scrap Bin Has a Holiday!

Apparently, our scraps have their own holiday—and I think we should celebrate!

Today, November 7, is International Scrap Sorting Day. What better excuse to spend a little time digging through those bits and pieces we couldn’t bear to throw away?

My suggestion? Start small. Pick one basket, one bag, or even that little pile beside your cutting mat. You do NOT have to organize every scrap you own in one afternoon!

Sort by color, size, or shape—whatever helps YOU see the possibilities. Pull out strips for string piecing, gather squares for a scrappy project, or put a few favorite colors together and see what happens.

For me, that’s the fun of sorting scraps. Somewhere between “What was I saving THIS for?” and “Oh, I remember that fabric!” an idea starts forming.

And if sorting leaves you wondering what to do with all those treasures, I have JUST the idea!

The “Conquer Your Fabric Scrap Summit” runs November 9–12.

More information tomorrow…

So, will you be celebrating International Scrap Sorting Day? And do you sort by color, size—or whatever container still has room?
