Last week, I told you about our new guild “Block of the Month” challenge.
The week before our first meeting, I realized I needed to decide which of the 8 January blocks I would make.
It was too hard to decide while flipping through the book, so I took photos of each possible block and printed them on a single page…

I quickly decided on these three…..

…and spent the night before the workshop making the first two blocks…..

One of my concerns is having SO many bright colors in the quilt, so I decided to make each block in a monochromatic theme.
Remember that the light green on the left block is my “background” fabric.
I also started prepping and appliqueing the third block….

AND….since it is already February 1st and I haven’t finished the flower basket block OR the 4th (yet un-selected) block……
I am ALREADY behind!!
Oh well, I will move on to February and worry about it later. After all, “tomorrow is another day”!!

Amazing what a difference color choices make in a block
Beverly
Doesn’t it Beverly!! I didn’t want to do the country look and am enjoying playing with other fabrics!!
You’ve got a good start! Those are striking blocks!
I was really happy with how the colors turned out Andrea. I am excited about continuing with this same idea!!
