Even though I have finished working thru the “MOVE IT!” class series, I am still trying to improve my free-motion quilting and learn new designs.
I have gotten REALLY behind on the Angela Walters “Flora & Foliage” Quilt-A-Long, but finally had a few hours to do some catch-up work!!
The next design that we tackled was a pebble design. I have quilted pebbles for a long time but have never really thought about the size of them. I first quilted the center of the flower pre-print and was happy with my work (even though a few of them are more oblong rather than round)…..

In the next step, she wanted us to try making them different sizes…..WHAT!!!!
I thought that it would be hard to do, but found it to be really freeing……

….and I do like the way that the larger ones pop off of the quilt.
Finally, it was time to tackle one more of her flower meander designs!! This one scared me the most but I found it to be pretty easy to do……

….and I love the way that the big flowers add so much dimension to the area. The only thing that I would change would be to space them a bit better!!
I am really excited that I have been able to work thru these new designs and I feel that working on MOVE IT! has give me some experience and confidence that I didn’t have before!!!
I can’t wait to move to the next design.
I would also encourage you to check out the challenge page of Angela’s website. She gives SO much information and SO much encouragement!!!
