Since we have an extra day this month, let’s spend it doing something fun!!
Yesterday we looked at the quilts that explored the darker colors of the Wyndham fabric challenge. Today let’s head to the chartreuse!!

This is what Karin wrote….
It was about halfway through piecing the individual pentagon pops that I realized that I would have 24 points coming together in one location, which turned my biggest challenge on this quilt into piecing that spot without having too much bulk. I had a blast making this and will be exploring 3d design challenges in the future.
I just wish that she had shared exactly HOW she accomplished it!!

Brittany’s inspiration was a power outage map following a storm in her area. She was struck by the randomness and confusion (of both the storm itself and the map), and wanted to translate that into her design.
She did that!!

I also loved this artist statement….

I appreciated the small touches that she added….

This next quilt used all of the colors, but that chartreuse sure pops…..

And here is another example of transparency…..

The straight-line quilting is phenomenal!!

I particularly like the quilting and the additional of red hand-quilted circles…..

There were a bunch of other quilts that I don’t have time to show, but I wanted to end with this one……

I loved her explanation….

Okay….that finishes up ONE category….there are a bunch to go.
