Day three of our “Negative Space” Category starts with an amazing quilt….

There is just SO much to like here, from the piecing…..

….to the quilting…..

Black and white featured in this quilt…..

Can you see the star in this next quilt?…

The quilt is made with “botanical dyed” fabrics. I would love to know more about that!!
The black in this next quilt really accentuates the wonderful colors….

The last quilt from yesterday is by the same maker and the series explores the interplay and tension between foreground and background, colors and values, and the contrast between them.
These circles remind me of Bubbles….

…which makes sense, since that was the inspiration!! Look at the great bubbles incorporated in the quilting..

“New Moon Rising” is a reflection of growth and new beginnings…..

AND….look at the GRID quilting…..

Fabulous!!!
Finally for today…..

The artist statement is worth reading….
I’ve had a couple of challenging years lately. I’ve survived them and grown as a person. I’ve moved forward. Covid. A terminal diagnosis of Liver Cancer. Glimmers of some hope. A generous gift of love; my daughter’s liver for a transplant. Lifesaving surgery. Growing hope. Reclaiming love. Reshaping my life. Always with gratitude. Always with a belief in the future. Knowing I was moving forward. Rarely in a straight line.
Tomorrow we will take a quick break for Free-Motion Friday, but come back on Saturday and we will finish up this wonderful category!!
