Yesterday we saw a number of larger pictorial quilts. Today let’s see some of the smaller ones.
FIRST PLACE….

This quilt is NOT painted, but uses only fabrics. The photo is of the library of the Mafra Palace in Portugal. However, the quilter paid tribute to Jinny Beyer by placing a page from one of her books on the book stand!!
…
SECOND PLACE
This quilt is by Kestrel Michaud who also had quilt that was a big winner. Her applique process is very detailed and realistic!!

…
THIRD PLACE…..

This quilt has many exciting parts, but I absolutely love the hair…..

…
I love the whimsical nature of this next quilg…..

…
I love the simplicity of this quilt….

This quilt was made in memory of the days when the maker and her husband would put bikes in the back of his small airplane, fly to Nantucket, and ride bikes around the island for the day. Such a sweet memory!!
…
Look at the details in these gentlemen’s boots….

I feel like I once knew those men!!
…

She painted the background fabric and then appliqued the other elements in place.
Did you notice the cute frogs in the border?

…
The final one for today was this amazing piece…..

The original artwork was by Eric Zener and was meant to invite you to enter a moment of inner piece.
Come back tomorrow and we will spent more time in the small pictorial quilts!!
