A Morning with the Chamblee Star Quilters

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of spending the morning with the quilters of the Chamblee Star Guild…..

My talk for the morning was “Climbing the Creative Family Tree”, where I presented quilts made by my Great-Grandmother, Grandmother, Mother, and myself.

It is a favorite talk to give, and I greatly enjoy showing quilts from so many generations of quilters in my lineage.

But first, I had to pull all those quilts out and get them downstairs to pack. After a few minutes of thinking, I decided to use my “invisible dumb-waiter”…. ie….I dropped them over the stair railing…..

First crisis averted!! But then there was the morning rush-hour traffic…

Oi-Vey!!

Once I got there, I was met by a group of kind, creative women…

….who listened attentively and asked AMAZING questions!!

I enjoyed their Show-And-Tell, especially a display of several quilts made over the years as thank-you presents for their past Presidents…

I left the meeting encouraged, inspired, and smiling from my interactions with these amazing quilters.

Thank you, ladies, for the opportunity of meeting with you!!

One of my favorite things about quilting is motivating others and helping them in their quilting journey. As part of this endeavor, I LOVE to present programs and workshops to groups and guilds around the world. All of my programs work well with Zoom meetings, and I would love to speak to your group.
