KONA Color of the Year Inspirations

At the Atlanta Sewing and Quilting Expo, there was a fun exhibition of quilts inspired by the KONA color of the year from 2024…. JULEP!!

This challenge was done in the Bloomington Normal Modern Quilt Guild

I loved this color and equally enjoyed the quilts that it inspired…..

I’m sorry…. I don’t know who made this

…..

No name on this one either

In this quilt, I love the different styles of quilting that she used….from Big Sttich hand quilting to tiny machine quilted lines!

One of my favorite things about quilting is motivating others and helping them in their quilting journey. As part of this endeavor, I LOVE to present programs and workshops to groups and guilds around the world. All of my programs work well with Zoom meetings, and I would love to speak to your group.

Kona Color of the Year – 2025

I love seeing the “colors of the year”!

Yesterday we looked at the Pantone Color of the Year for 2025…..

Now let’s check out the Kona Color of the Year…..

Isn’t that a rich and wonderful color!!

Here is one of the palette suggestions that Kona makes….

I spent a few minutes looking thru my “Color Cube”….

…and found several other possible palettes…

And it might even pair nicely with the Pantone color….

Okay…..now I have LOTS of inspirations!!

Kona Color of Year – 2024

Last week, we talked about the Pantone color of the year for 2024…..

While it is interesting, I am not super excited by it.

So, today I turned to the Kona Color of the Year……

This one seems more exciting to me!!

I need to find a few minutes and pull some fabrics and see what I can do with either of these colors.

HMMMM….I wonder if you could use them BOTH together??

Stay tuned for more!!

Another “Color of the Year”

When I posted about the Pantone Color of the Year, several people commented that there was also a “KONA Color of the Year” so I knew that I had to check it out.

KONA is a line from Robert Kaufman Fabrics that features only solids.

For 2022, they announced that the Color of the Year was COSMOS!!!!

Like the Pantone color of the year, I can get into this one!!!

As I did more searching about this color, I came across the Missouri Quilt Company page that features this color, and they provided several FREE patterns for quilts featuring Cosmos….

You might want to check them out for yourself!!

Now that I used the Pantone color (Veri Peri) to pick fabrics for a quilt, I guess that I need to do the same with Cosmos!!!

What do you think about this color? Is it something that you would ever use??

What would your color of the year be???
