No Room for Creativity

Even though it is the middle of summer….the HEART of my creative time….. I am finding it difficult to be creative.

But then, it is hard to be creative when your studio looks like this…..

I am on a huge push to finish the filming for my new course “Let’s Get Scrappy” and, unfortunately the above photo is how things look when I am filming.

The push to finish is for two reasons….

1 To get my CREATIVE studio back

2 To get my hair cut!! It has gotten long and I really want it cut soon but I want to finish all of the filming first so it will be consistent!!

The videos are working thru the making of a scrappy patriotic table runner which currently looks like this…..

I love how this is turning out and can’t wait to add the final border to it.

I have enjoyed filming all of the different steps to making this quilt, including four-patches, TONS of half-square triangles and flocks of flying geese…..

The REALLY good news is that my blue 2.5-inch square pile is MUCH smaller….

The BAD news is that sometime soon I need to deal with this overflowing scrap basket….

So for now, the word around my house is……

Stay tuned for more about the upcoming course!!

Summer Sherbet!!

The month of July has been put aside for creating my upcoming Scrap Quilting Course….. Let’s Get Scrappy”!!

As part of the course, I designed a table runner pattern that we will make during the classes, learning principles and techniques along the way.

However, I knew that I needed to try out the pattern first, so used alternate colors and came up with this…..

As I was working on it, I found myself getting hungry and realized that I was thinking about…..

….. Rainbow Sherbet….one of my summertime favorite treats!!!

I love how it looks on my table…..

….and it puts a big smile on my face when I pass!!

So, grab your scraps and get ready to “Get Scrappy”!!
