A few more leftovers!!

As I finished up the 2-inch scrap quilt that I showed yesterday, I ended up taking off two rows.

WHAT TO DO WITH THEM??

Make 3 more rows, turn them into columns and make it into a charity quilt!!

Keeping coming back this next week and I will tell you about the finishing on this quilt, including some fun spiral quilting.

And spoiler alert…..there were a few surprises AND a few issues!!

Aren’t there always???

.

Remember that the Scrap Summit starts in FOUR days……Don’t miss out!!

Summer of the Scraps – Quilt #2

I can finally announce that the second of my scrap quilts……made with 2-inch squares…. is officially FINISHED!!!

I can honestly say that I am THRILLED with this quilt.

AND, I think that, technically, it is one of the best ones that I have ever made!!

As you saw yesterday, the quilting was so much fun and I think that I accomplished my goal of making the white blocks shine…..

I spent extra time squaring the piece and making sure the binding didn’t impinge on the border quilting.

One of the more exciting things is the look of my 2-inch scrap drawer before and after…..

WHAT’S NEXT???

.

THIS quilting is FUN FUN FUN!!

I find that certain quilts are a drudgery to quilt and some just seem to skip along.

Fortunately, the quilting on my 2-inch scrap was one of the FUN, FUN, FUN times!!

If you are reading on email, you can use this link to go directly to the video….. https://youtu.be/ydwv9vLGpFA

Just look at the fun design that appeared in each of the four corners…..

It doesn’t get better than that!!

Come back tomorrow to see the reveal and also ogle at how many scraps I used!!

.

Please note that the Summit is free, but if you purchase any of the extras, I receive a portion of your payment.

Hallway of scraps??

Over the years I have posted lots of photos of hotel hallways as inspirations for quilting projects. At this stage, I can’t remember when or where this photo was taken….

…..but I love the angles and shapes that are formed.

NOW, in my “SUMMER OF THE SCRAP” mode, I looked at this photo again and wondered what it would look like with scrap strips!!

THAT might be fun to play with and heaven knows, I have plenty of strips to play with!!!
