Filler Finale…..

As I mentioned last week, I finished the “Free Motion Filler” Challenge from Angela Walters.

Once I decided to slow down and take my time with the practice sessions, I really enjoyed this challenge and learned so many new designs that I can’t wait to use!!

I mean…..how can you NOT like the textures here…..

This also gave me a good chance to try out the “dog grooming arms” that my husband bought me for my last birthday…..

I found that they really helped to hold the quilt up as I worked on it…..

I was originally concerned that I would spend all of my time re-clipping as I moved from area to area, but I didn’t find that to be a problem.

So….it was two challenges for the price of one!!!!

I think that it is now time for me to quit PRACTICING my FMQ skills and start actually USING them!!!

August means FOOTBALL….and quilts

Over the last months, I have been sharing the quilts that I made as part of the British Quilt List challenge in 2009…..

The challenge for August was to make thirty-six, 2.5-inch half-square triangles and then play with them until you found a design that you liked!!

Since it was August and the beginning of college football season, I went with the University of Georgia RED & BLACK….

I remember having so much fun playing with the squares until I found a pattern that was pleasing…..

So, even if you may not be a Georgia fan, I hope that you enjoy the quilt and I would highly encourage you to sew up some half-square triangles and make one for yourself!!!!

And….finally……

GO DAWGS!!!!

730 days….

At first glance, the number 730 might not seem like much, but, to me, it means that I have been posting daily blogs for ….

Back in 2020, when we had lots of time on our hands, I decided that it was time to “up my game” with blogging. Basically, this meant that I couldn’t just throw a post out every so often….sometimes 6 weeks would go past without one. Now it was time to get serious!!

The first thing I did was reach out to a fellow blogger, Andrea Huelsenbeck of ARHtistic License, and ask how SHE managed to blog EVERY….SINGLE……DAY!!! As an aside, be sure to check out her blogs about all things creative!!

She gave me some wonderful tips and I decided to challenge myself to try it for 1 year.

Well, that year passed and I still had things to say so I decided to go for TWO years.

Today marks the start of year number THREE!!!!

Am I crazy? Maybe….

Am I still having fun? Definitely…..

And what makes it fun is the interaction that comes thru my readers. I have loved all of the comments….even those that didn’t agree with me…… and I am amazed at the passion and creative minds that exist in the blogosphere!!

Thank you for sticking with me!!!

The Eye of the Needle

Can you thread a needle without assistance???

I most definitely CAN NOT…..and it is getting worse as I get older!!!

I have four different needle threaders that I consistently use…..

…..and I wanted to share the pros and cons of each.

Have a look at the video and see if one of these might just work for you!

The two threaders from Amazon are pretty generic, but here are the Amazon sales pages……

Do you have other threaders that you like?

If so, please share them with me!!
